I’m finally getting my stuff together in all the chaos of the holidays. Been waiting for my free vimeo account to allow me to upload another HD video (I get one a week). So, I got my first little tie together all uploaded and ready to go.
This was my first time shooting with a DSLR, so I had no idea what I was doing. I was able to shoot a few things (mostly on the Sigma 30mm f/1.4). I was really trying to figure out aperture, ISO and shutter speed. Quite different than the Panasonic HVX200, but it’s mostly all the same stuff.
I just shot a few shots of my brother and his friend playing some shuffleboard. I also dabbled in the 60p mode a bit to get that slow motion feel. Turned out really cool, especially that ending shot. That depth of field is incredible! That was the 30mm f/1.4. That thing is a beast.
A couple nights later, I decided to edit something together. It was late, so I did it very quickly. I threw in “11:00 am (Daydreamer)” by 10 Years, and exported it. I did not want to color correct it, because I wanted to observe the images right out of the camera. Pretty fantastic. I’m going to have a lot of fun with this thing and will surely make some ridiculously cool stuff very soon.
